Ali Abbasi explores all these aspects in a highly stylistic and compelling portrait of a man who had it all and wanted more.

The film never feels dead, it’s always moving forward

The Apprentice follows Donald Trump through a certain era of his career from the beginning to the insanity that has turned into forward. his huge success in the 1980s and especially his relationship with attorney Roy Cohn. First off I have to say this movie is AMAZING, it has style, the vintage grainy feel of the 80’s and 90’s is captured so beautifully, every frame is filled with detail and color. The feel of the era has definitely been created with care, and the music is also well-chosen with great pieces that accompany the scenes.

Comparison with movies like Wall Street etc

is very obvious, but Ali manages to make it her own. It’s a portrait that’s not very glamorous and it’s very disturbing because it’s really scary how someone could be like that. The acting is phenomenal and top notch, especially Sebastian Stan, who gives a terrifying performance – this is really the Trump we’ve seen on TV. If I can think of one negative thing about this film, it’s that it perhaps doesn’t explore the relationships of many in the film in a deeper way.

Go see it!
