Story
After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot named Roz finds herself on a deserted island
In order to survive in harsh conditions, Roza gets close to the animals of the island and takes care of an orphaned gosling. Lupita Nyong’o is joined by writer/director Chris Sanders to talk about their remarkable work and time together on Wild Robot. According to author Peter Brown, the inspiration for “Wild Robot” was a sketch of a robot on a tree. Then he asked the question “What would an intelligent robot do in the wild?” When the fox enters the house, the moose grunts at the door, but a bear recording is used as a sound effect.

Key lime pie in this animated masterpiece is a beautiful, inclusive story that touches on many poignant themes, including: finding your heart or living with a disability without teaching anyone.
“Wild Robot” will make you laugh, cry and sigh!
During the first act, I laughed so hard at the brilliant, natural comic moments taken from the book of the same name written by Peter Brown. By the second act, I was in awe of where this storyline would lead the audience, and by the third act, I felt salty in my eyes. Famous voice cast including Lupita Nyong’o, Catherine O’Hara (Beatlejuice, She’s So Hot Now), Bill Nighy, Matt Berry (Toast of London), Wing Rhames, Mark Hamill, Pedro Pascal and many others do an amazing job breathing life into this script, supported by the lush atmosphere of the island and the magnificent creatures that inhabit it. Director Chris Sanders’ obsession with animation from “Lilo and Stitch” to “The Croods” brought dividends in “Wild Robot.” This film shows us that sometimes, in order to survive, you have to become more than you were programmed to be.
