If you’re a fan of The Mayor of Kingstown, you’ll love this show too. Even the opening credits are similar in style and cinematography, guess that’s a Taylor Sheridan trademark.
But nothing he says is false
Billy Bob Thornton delivers his gruff, crude, no-nonsense lines with typical Billy Bob Thornton sarcasm. There’s one scene in one of the first few episodes where Thornton’s character gives a long speech about the need for petroleum in every area of our lives, which definitely sounds like an advertisement written into the script of the oil industry.
The first few episodes are sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute and feature advertisements featuring oil and petroleum workers
All in all, I think this is going to be a great show, the writing is great, the acting is great, and the characters are very human.
