Miami, 1991. When he can no longer ignore his bloodthirsty urges, young Dexter Morgan must learn to channel his inner darkness as he goes from student to vengeful serial killer under the guidance of his father Harry. “Dexter” shares Michael C. Hall’s birthday on February 1, 1971. In episode 4, the Blockbuster employee Deb and her friend meet wears a dark blue short-sleeved shirt as part of his uniform. In 1991, employees wore long-sleeved light blue shirts. The short-sleeved shirts weren’t worn until 4-5 years later. Followed by “Dexter: Resurrection” (2025). I had pretty low expectations and was mostly excited about “Resurrection”. The beginning of the first episode was embarrassing with the cuts and the CGI police car and I thought, “Oh man, this is going to be a flop.” By the end of the first episode, I had to give in because the actors embodied their characters perfectly and the story was promising. Although we already know the backstory, the first episode had a few surprises that added more depth to some of the characters we’ve come to know and love and the choices these characters make. I’ve only read one episode and I’m already hooked!
