It tells the story of three very different families competing to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style mansion that they think will solve all their problems. Denis Leary and Ray Romano both appeared in the Ice Age franchise (2002-present). I was surprised to see the show receive such low ratings, but it made more sense after reading many reviews explaining why they didn’t get past the first episode. The show is a slow-building mystery that may not be for everyone. I personally found it very funny and entertaining with a particular tone from Liz Feldman that I appreciate. I really love the cast and everyone’s performances. I wasn’t sold on Ray Romano at first due to my own prejudices (a lifetime of not being able to separate him from Every Loves Raymond), but that went away pretty quickly. All of the various characters have their own back stories that form a tangled web of chaos that is gradually, though not completely, unraveled. By the last episode I was quite invested in the story, despite having worked out the main twist early on. I’m not mad about that, though. I’d love to see more of this show, and I really hope they get a second season. No need to waste your time scrolling endlessly: here’s the entire lineup of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
