Alana Higman, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader, and her family are competing to win the team’s Fan of the Year award, in a process judged by Director of Fan Engagement Derrick. The movie was filmed on location in the historic Independence Square in Independence, Missouri, which really does look like this all year round. The locations that served as the Higman family store and Norma and Nick’s steakhouse are also real family stores.

This story was so sweet and funny

The square also has Christmas lights just like the ones in the movie. This movie was a pure, fun, and comforting treat, and I still smile when I watch it. It was a love story and a wonderful Christmas movie.

Go for it, Mayor!

This movie was exactly what I needed in my life right now: a sweet holiday escape. This resonated with me as a fan of romantic comedies, but also as a sports fan in me who loves the thrill of cheering for my teams—both my own and my newly adopted team. I also really enjoyed Derrick’s story because he was lonely and lost and perhaps a little deprived of a full family life full of traditions, and this warm, welcoming, colorful family really drew him in.

This film was also wonderfully enriched by the supporting cast, who really brought depth and color to this beautiful story

The writing was exquisite and sweet, gently and skillfully eliciting some unexpected tears, delightful laughter, and the occasional audible “awww.” And there was such an engaging chemistry between these two characters. Hunter King and Tyler Hynes’ performances were impeccable, heartfelt, and funny, and we could feel so much energy and connection from both of them as they brought their characters to life. The more I think about it, the more I want to watch it over and over again and feel the joy that comes with it.
