The DC Studios logo is placed in a seedy Gotham alley

Story

Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, a.k.a. The Penguin, is making a show of seizing the reins of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Colin Farrell and Kristin Milioti talk about how they created their character in “The Penguin.” Colin Farrell fought hard to get his own smoking tobacco version of The Penguin in Batman (2022), but he didn’t make it. However, in his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user who prefers cigars.

Farrell STEALS this series

The umbrella falls, and the logo is changed to the Warner Bros. logo. Graham Norton as Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). He’s impressive.

There’s nothing cartoonish about it

There’s nothing about the character that even hints at Farrell. The NY dialect, the swaying and limping, the attitude: you’d swear it was a different person. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add to the character. The show is gritty and graphic.

It’s a shame

Well written and tense. It’s a great take on Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say it blows the Marvel line out of the water. I hope it could get a season 2, but I know it’s limited.

HBO has a legitimate hit on their hands
