When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack by greedy competitors who were once her friends, she concocts a scheme to exact revenge and shake up the industry.. Loosely based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a storage facility in Quebec; five people were sentenced to jail..
I didn’t realize this was "season 1"
thanks. I was led to believe it was a full story told in 6 parts.
Because of that, it’s both not enough -leaves you hanging- and is stretched too thin
The casting and production design are terrific, but it’s like the original Twin Peaks: once the "big crime" is solved, the story’s over. Trying to draw it out with extraneous subplots becomes painful no matter how much we enjoy spending time with these quirky characters.
